Weddings and Parties with The Hosepipe Band

The Colchester-based Hosepipe Band has more than ten years' experience of playing for weddings, parties and other private celebrations throughout East Anglia, the London area and beyond.

The Hosepipe Band provides the following

Music for three to three-and-a-half hours of dancing. A typical barn dance would run from 7.30-11.00 or 8.00-11.30 with a short supper break during the evening. Our music is a mixture of traditional and more recent compositions, played on a wide range of traditional and modern instruments.
A caller to run the evening and explain the dancers. At most weddings and private celebrations, only a few if any of the guests have done this kind of dancing before. Our callers are experienced at calling for complete beginners and have a range of dances suitable for all abilities and ages, including children and the elderly.
A full PA system to ensure that the music and the caller's instructions are heard.
Music to listen to. We can provide tasteful background music before the dancing begins, and during the interval. If YOU have a particular piece of music you wish to hear, we have a CD player which we can link to the main PA system.
